Indian Stock Markets Plummet as Crude Oil Surpasses $100 Per Barrel
The Indian stock market opened lower on Thursday due to escalating tensions in West Asia and a sharp rise in crude oil prices.
The Nifty 50 index declined by 192 points or 0.80 per cent to 23,674.85, while the BSE Sensex fell by 494.06 points or 0.64 per cent to 76,369.65.
Market experts attributed the early losses to a combination of global risk aversion, rising crude prices, and continued foreign institutional investor (FII) outflows.
Ajay Bagga, a banking and market expert, said India has become a 'sell-on-rally' market for foreign investors amid global uncertainty.
