Indian Stock Markets Surge on Crude Oil Price Plunge Amid Easing Tensions
Stock markets in India saw a significant surge on Monday (August 3, 2026) as crude oil prices plummeted by nearly 5% amid easing geopolitical tensions. The 30-share BSE Sensex jumped 470.06 points to 78,564.70 during initial trade.
The 50-share NSE Nifty climbed 150 points to 24,532.95. ITC, Bajaj Finserv, InterGlobe Aviation, and Tata Consultancy Services were among the major winners in the Sensex pack.
Brent crude traded at $83.56 per barrel, down from its previous price. Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) bought equities worth ₹277.48 crore on Friday (July 31, 2026), contributing to market optimism.
