IndianOil Maintains Uninterrupted Fuel Supplies Amid Global Disruptions
Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri praised Indian Oil Corporation (IndianOil) for maintaining uninterrupted fuel supplies across India despite global disruptions in the energy market. The praise came on the occasion of IndianOil Day, September 1st.
Puri highlighted that India's oil marketing companies (OMCs), led by Maharatna companies like IndianOil, have absorbed the impact of global disruptions while continuing to import energy and ensure uninterrupted fuel supplies to citizens. This, he noted, has shielded millions of consumers from the full impact of global shocks.
Indian Oil has played a crucial role in protecting consumers from supply-chain disruptions arising from the situation around the Strait of Hormuz, a key route for global energy supplies. The company has also continued to expand its retail and gas distribution network across the country, with over 42,818 retail outlets and more than 2,600 CNG stations.
Puri emphasized that Indian Oil has invested heavily in India's energy infrastructure while maintaining financial discipline, with over Rs 30,000 crore annually spent over the past five years. This effort, he noted, is helping India maintain a resilient path towards energy security by ensuring affordable supplies and stabilising markets during global crises.
