India's Bullion Market Corrects Sharply as Gold and Silver Prices Plummet
Indian bullion markets experienced a sharp correction on September 11, 2026, as gold prices plummeted by ₹2,700 to ₹1,55,900 per 10 grams. Silver prices dropped even more drastically, falling by ₹10,000 to settle at ₹2,34,600 per kilogram.
The domestic market trend was notable because it occurred while global commodity markets moved in the opposite direction. Global spot gold prices rose by 1.15 percent to reach $4,366.58 per ounce, and global silver prices gained 2 percent to hit $64.77 per ounce.
Market experts attribute this decline to heavy profit-booking by traders who sold their holdings to lock in gains after a sustained rally in bullion prices over recent weeks.
