India's Fuel Price Volatility Continues Amid West Asia Conflict
The prices of LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas), CNG (Compressed Natural Gas), and PNG (Piped Natural Gas) have continued to be a concern for consumers in India. The latest rates, effective September 10, show that the 14.2 kg LPG cylinder costs between ₹942 and ₹994 across different cities.
The prices of commercial LPG cylinders range from ₹2,701 to ₹3,016.50. CNG prices have been increased in Delhi and neighboring cities, with a price of ₹86.98 per kilogram. PNG prices are also higher, ranging from ₹48.40 to ₹54.70 per standard cubic meter.
The government has approved an incentive scheme for city gas distributors to increase domestic PNG connections by September 1, 2026. This move aims to reduce subsidy expenditure and shift consumers from LPG to piped gas. India is also turning more sharply to the United States for LPG and LNG supplies amid disruptions in West Asia.
