India's Gold and Silver Prices Surge on August 4
Gold and silver prices rose in India's domestic market on August 4, as per the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA). The price of 24-carat gold increased by Rs 381 to reach Rs 1,42,938 per 10 grams. Silver also gained Rs 2,130, reaching Rs 2.19 lakh per kilogram.
The IBJA reported that gold prices have been volatile in 2026 but have generally trended upwards. Since the end of 2025, gold has risen by approximately Rs 10,000 to reach its current price of around Rs 1.43 lakh per 10 grams. Gold touched an all-time high of Rs 1.76 lakh per 10 grams during the year.
On the other hand, silver prices remain lower than their level at the end of 2025. Although prices rose on August 4, the metal is still around Rs 12,000 lower than its peak in December 2025. Silver had surged to a record price of Rs 3.86 lakh per kilogram on January 29 before retreating.
