India's Gold and Silver Prices Under Pressure Amid Global Economic Uncertainty
Gold and silver prices have been under pressure in India, causing market participants to track global economic data, US interest rate expectations, and currency movements for further direction. Gold is being traded mainly in two purities: 24-karat and 22-karat. The latter is preferred for jewellery due to its greater strength and durability. On August 18, gold prices at leading jewellery retailers remained stable, with Joyalukkas and Malabar Gold & Diamonds both quoting ₹14,600 per gram across major Indian states.
Tanishq's 22K gold rate was slightly higher at ₹14,645 per gram. However, market trends continue to guide gold prices, and the marginal differences in retail prices are influenced by brand-specific pricing policies, procurement costs, and regional market conditions. The latest rates show that gold has topped ₹1.59 lakh, while silver has crossed ₹2.55 lakh.
Check the latest gold and silver rates here: Delhi's 24K Gold price is ₹1,59,430 per 10 grams, and Mumbai's 22K Gold price is ₹1,46,010 per 10 grams. The prices may fluctuate due to various market factors, but it's essential for investors to monitor these trends closely.
