India's Gold Market Driven by International Prices and Festive Demand
India's gold market remains a significant player in the country's economy. The current price of gold in India is influenced by various factors, including international gold prices and domestic jewellery demand.
The retail market for gold primarily offers two purities: 24-karat and 22-karat. While 24-karat gold is considered pure, 22-karat gold is preferred for jewellery due to its strength and durability.
As of September 11, 2026, the latest gold rates across major Indian cities were as follows:
Gold prices in Delhi stood at ₹1,52,230 per 10 grams of 24-karat gold and ₹1,39,544 per 10 grams of 22-karat gold. In Mumbai, the corresponding rates were ₹1,54,290 for 24-karat gold and ₹1,39,783 for 22-karat gold.
The prices at top jewellers also remained relatively stable, with Joyalukkas and Malabar Gold & Diamonds quoting ₹14,255 per gram across major Indian states. Tanishq's 22K gold rate stood at ₹14,300 per gram.
