India's Gold Prices Decline Amid Volatility
Gold prices in India declined across several major markets on August 10 after experiencing a strong rally last week. Retail gold rates fell, while MCX gold futures traded higher and remained above the ₹1.52 lakh mark per 10 grams.
The decline in retail prices was seen across cities such as Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad, according to Goodreturns data. In contrast, MCX gold futures moved into positive territory, indicating that buyers and investors received mixed signals at the start of the new week.
Internationally, spot gold remained above $4,300 an ounce but slipped from last week's strong levels. Gold buyers were advised to consider the final purchase cost rather than relying only on the headline rate, as prices can fluctuate throughout the day due to volatility in MCX futures and global factors.
