India's Gold Prices Remain Steady Amid Bullion Trends
The prices of gold and silver in India remained relatively stable on September 9. The retail market for gold is dominated by two purities, 24-karat and 22-karat, with 24-karat considered the purest form but also more expensive. However, 22-karat gold is widely preferred for jewelry due to its greater strength and durability.
The prices of gold in India are influenced by several factors, including the international gold price, the exchange rate of the US Dollar, and domestic demand, particularly ahead of the festive season. According to recent data, Joyalukkas and Malabar Gold & Diamonds quoted ₹14,130 per gram for 22-karat gold across major Indian states, while Tanishq's 22K gold rate stood at ₹14,175 per gram.
The prices of silver also remained steady, with a 100-gram piece costing ₹24,990 in Delhi and Mumbai. The marginally higher price in Hyderabad is due to regional market conditions and procurement costs. Overall, the prices of gold and silver are largely guided by bullion trends and exchange rates.
