India's LNG Imports Surge 28% in June Amid Redirected Supplies

India's LNG imports surged by 28% in June to 2.659 million tons, marking the highest volume of imports over the past 20 months. This significant increase is attributed to rising demand and redirected supplies from Europe.

The country imported 562 thousand tons of LNG from the US in June, accounting for 21% of total deliveries. The US remained the largest supplier to India, followed by Nigeria, Oman, and Angola.

India's traditional gas suppliers in the Middle East have seen a decrease in supplies due to hostilities and weather conditions. However, deliveries partially resumed from the UAE and Qatar in June, providing 20% of total deliveries for the month.
