India's LPG Distribution Remains Uninterrupted Amidst West Asia Crisis
The Indian government has assured that domestic LPG distribution across the country is normal and uninterrupted. Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Sujata Sharma, stated that amidst the West Asia crisis, the government is making all efforts to ensure a hundred percent supply of domestic LPG to consumers for cooking, and up to 70% to commercial cylinder consumers.
Sharma informed that online LPG cylinder bookings increased to 99% on an industry basis yesterday. Additionally, around 87.28 lakh LPG cylinders were delivered against bookings of approximately 88.82 lakh LPG cylinders during the last two days. She also mentioned that about 95% of deliveries of LPG cylinders are being done through authentication code.
The Ministry reported that more than 2,100 raids were conducted across the country yesterday to curb hoarding and black marketing of LPG. Furthermore, the total number of 5 Kg FTL cylinders sold during the past two days was around 1.2 lakh.
