India's LPG Supplies Remain Uninterrupted Amid West Asia Concerns

The Indian government has assured citizens that domestic LPG supplies are smooth and uninterrupted amid concerns over the evolving situation in West Asia. Secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Sujata Sharma, stated that home delivery of LPG cylinders is being facilitated to avoid congestion at distributor showrooms.

Sharma noted that commercial LPG supply has been restored up to 70%, with over 1.47 lakh LPG cylinders sold in April so far. She added that more than 81,000 5 kg cylinders were sold as of yesterday, and over 1.33 lakh 5 kg cylinders have been sold through awareness camps.

The government has also ensured that natural gas supplies are sufficient, with around 5.27 lakh PNG connections being gasified. An additional infrastructure has been developed for over 2.6 lakh more connections, with around 5.97 lakh new consumers' registrations.

Sharma emphasized that petrol and diesel supplies in the country remain adequate, with no dry-out reported at any petrol pump. She urged citizens to avoid panic buying, assuring that supplies are sufficient and there has been no increase in diesel prices.
