India's PET Market Remains Firm Amid Tight Supply and Stronger Feedstock Prices

India's PET market remained firm due to tight supply and stronger feedstock prices during the week ended August 1, 2026. The polyethylene terephthalate (PET) value chain was supported by firm feedstock prices, delayed imports, and improving downstream demand.

The basic PET bottle-grade price stood at INR 133.10/kg, with domestic producers rolling over the price despite fluctuations in crude oil. The recycled PET market remained stable, but buying sentiment softened slightly in the second half of the week.

Crude oil prices declined initially due to easing concerns over supply disruptions, but recovered later in the week as geopolitical tensions increased and US crude inventories declined. Brent crude briefly climbed above $90/bbl before easing on profit-taking.
