India's Renewable Energy Push to Fuel Copper Demand Surge
Naseem Sheikh, Chairman and Managing Director at Shera Energy, expects significant demand growth for advanced conductive materials such as copper and aluminium products due to India's rapid expansion in transmission, renewable energy, and grid modernization.
The country is planning to integrate over 500 GW of renewable energy by 2030, with a projected transmission network reach of 6.48 lakh circuit km by 2031-32.
This growth is driving demand for products such as conductors, busbars, transformer windings, and other electrical components that require efficiency, reliability, and application-specific solutions.
