India's Sensex and Nifty Slide as Crude Prices, US-Iran Tensions Weigh
The Indian stock market indices Sensex and Nifty fell in early trade on Monday due to concerns over crude oil prices, US-Iran tensions, and a potential interest rate hike in the US.
The BSE Sensex dropped 172.77 points to 76,342.66, while the NSE Nifty declined by 63.30 points to 23,832.60.
The major laggards among the 30 Sensex firms were Infosys, Tech Mahindra, HCL Tech, Tata Steel, Tata Consultancy Services, and UltraTech Cement.
Eternal, Bharti Airtel, Bharat Electronics, and Larsen & Toubro were among the winners.
