India's Silver Prices Soar to ₹2.19 Lakh/kg Amid Gold Price Hike
Silver prices in India have surged by ₹2,130 per kilogram to reach ₹2.19 lakh/kg as of August 4th, according to the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA). This marks a significant increase from its previous price.
The price of 10 grams of 24-carat gold has also risen by ₹381 to ₹1.43 lakh. Gold prices vary across major cities in India, with Delhi and Jaipur recording the highest price at ₹1.44,150 for 10 grams of 24-carat gold.
Gold has seen a consistent upward trend this year, with its price increasing by ₹10,000 since the beginning of 2026. In contrast, silver prices have dropped by ₹12,000 during the same period.
Ajay Kedia, a commodity expert, forecasts that gold may reach ₹1.60 lakh per 10 grams by the end of the year and silver may reach ₹2.80 lakh per kilogram. He advises investors to avoid making lump sum investments in gold and silver.
