Indonesia Dominates Global LNG Re-Exports with Aceh Hub

Indonesia has solidified its position as the world's largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) re-exporter, according to the International Gas Union (IGU) World LNG Report 2026. The country handled 0.85 million tons of LNG re-exports in 2025, accounting for 17.3% of the global market.

Petrona Arun Gas (PAG), a leading contributor to Indonesia's LNG exports, operates the Arun Terminal in Aceh, which has transformed into a regional gas logistics hub in South and Southeast Asia.

The terminal's strategic location enables efficient re-export activities across the region. In 2025, PAG completed 49 operational activities at the Arun Terminal, including unloading, reloading, and GUCD (Gassing Up and Cooling Down) operations.

PAG reported a revenue of US$105 million and a net profit of US$25.1 million in 2025. The company's performance demonstrates its efforts to achieve positive growth despite existing challenges.
