Indonesian Gold Prices Plummet Amid Market Pressure
Gold prices at Pegadaian in Indonesia saw a decline on Thursday (8/27) due to market pressure. The 1-gram Galeri24 gold price fell by Rp21,000 to Rp2,705,000 per gram, while UBS products dropped by Rp27,000 to Rp2,761,000 per gram. This decline is part of a correction trend that began on Wednesday when Galeri24 gold prices fell by Rp16,000 and Antam prices slipped by Rp18,000.
The price correction affected all weight variants of gold from both brands, with the 0.5-gram size being priced at Rp1,418,000 for Galeri24 and Rp1,492,000 for UBS. The larger sizes saw similar declines, with 10-gram gold being set at Rp26,450,000 for Galeri24 and Rp26,929,000 for UBS.
The price movement is influenced by global gold prices and the rupiah's exchange rate against the US dollar. While this decline may serve as a buying opportunity for retail investors, it also highlights the volatility of gold prices due to external factors such as monetary policy and currency movements.
