INDYCAR Shifts to Hoosier-Sourced Ethanol in 2027
The NTT INDYCAR SERIES is shifting to an updated 100% renewable race fuel in 2027, made from Indiana corn.
Indiana is the fifth-largest corn-producing state in the US, with around 40% of its corn grind dedicated to ethanol production across 15 local biorefineries.
J.R. Roesner, a corn farmer and board member for both the Indiana Corn Growers Association and the National Corn Growers Association, calls this partnership 'a huge win' for corn farmers.
The updated fuel achieves at least a 70% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions compared to gasoline standards.
