Inpex Charged Over Emissions Under-Reporting at Australian LNG Facility
Australia's Northern Territory Environment Protection Authority has charged Japan's Inpex over alleged breaches of its environmental license at the Ichthys liquefied natural gas facility near Darwin.
The charges relate to the under-reporting of benzene and toluene emissions between 2019 and 2024, according to a statement from the regulator.
The matter is currently before the courts, with the Northern Territory Environment Protection Authority declining further comment.
