Inpex Sees Strong Buyer Interest in Indonesia LNG Amid Middle East Tensions

Japanese energy company Inpex is seeing strong interest in its Abadi liquefied natural gas project in Indonesia. This comes as tensions in the Middle East highlight the value of energy resources that can reach Asia without passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

The Abadi LNG project, expected to produce 9.5 million metric tons of LNG annually, is equivalent to over 10% of Japan's yearly imports. Inpex sees strong buyer interest in this project due to its unique location, which allows it to avoid the Middle East strait.
