Investigator Silver Unveils Plans for Australia's First Pure-Play Silver Project
Investigator Silver presented its plans for Australia's only pure-play silver project at the Noosa Mining Conference 2026. The company is developing a mine in South Australia that will produce direct silver doré, avoiding complex offtake structures and giving full exposure to the silver price.
The project has strong economics, with a definitive feasibility study completed in February 2024 pointing to about $1 billion in free cash generation over an 11-year mine life. Initial capital expenditure is estimated at around $260 million, with a payback period of just 13 months.
Management said the project's enterprise value is around AUD 60 million, or roughly 10% of its project value. This represents a significant discount to peers, reflecting the project's pre-production stage and the work still needed on permitting, engineering, and financing.
