IOC Signs Five-Year Deal with Mauritius for Petroleum Supplies
Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) has signed a five-year agreement with the State Trading Corporation (STC) of Mauritius to supply petroleum products. Under this deal, IOC will meet Mauritius' entire import requirement of motor spirit, high-speed diesel, and aviation turbine fuel.
The agreement was signed during India's Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri's visit to Mauritius, where he met with Mauritian leaders, including Prime Minister Navinchandra Ramgoolam. The deal positions India as the anchor fuel supplier to Mauritius and strengthens its strategic and economic footprint in the Indian Ocean region.
India has emerged as a major global refining hub, producing 267 MMT of refined petroleum products across 23 refineries, making it a net exporter of refined products. This long-term supply agreement is the first concluded by an Indian public sector undertaking (PSU) oil marketing company outside South Asia in recent years.
