Iowa Gas Prices Tumble on Crude Oil Decline

The price of regular unleaded gasoline in Iowa has dropped by five cents from last week's price, according to AAA. The current average is $3.75 per gallon, which is a significant decrease compared to a year ago when prices averaged $2.92. Crude oil prices have also fallen this week, with West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude dropping by $1.78 per barrel to $84.98 and Brent crude falling by $3.34 to $90.53.

Compared to a year ago, WTI crude is up 14% while Brent crude is also up 24%. Motor fuel prices have increased in Iowa this week, with diesel prices rising by 12 cents to an average of $4.97 per gallon. This represents a significant jump from last year's price of $3.56.

The current Des Moines Terminal/Rack Prices are $2.87 for U87-E10, $3.39 for Unleaded 87 (clear), $3.92 for ULSD#2, $4.15 for ULSD#1, and $2.39 per gallon for E-70 prices.
