IPMAN Seeks Priority Funding for Trucking Corridor Network
The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has called on the Federal Government to prioritize funding for its proposed 100-station trucking corridor network. This network is seen as a crucial component of the country's Compress Natural Gas (CNG) infrastructure, which aims to provide cheaper energy and reduce transport costs.
President Bola Tinubu recently directed the rollout of an additional 500 CNG fuelling stations, bringing the planned network to 1,000 stations. IPMAN welcomed this directive but expressed concerns about the funding required for the project.
The Association noted that government-backed funding would be one of the fastest and most cost-effective paths to nationwide impact. They emphasized that supply, offtake, and market access already exist for the network, making it ready for deployment with the right funding.
