Iran Accused of Attacking UAE Oil Vessel in Strait of Hormuz
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) accused Iran of attacking a vessel operated by Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) while it was transiting the Strait of Hormuz on August 14.
No injuries were reported, and ADNOC confirmed that the situation was brought under control. The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the incident, calling on Tehran to stop what it described as 'unprovoked attacks' and fully restore navigation through the strategic waterway.
This marks the third reported attack involving an ADNOC vessel in less than a week, with Abu Dhabi attributing the previous incidents to Iran. The Strait of Hormuz remains a critical global energy chokepoint, through which a significant share of the world's oil and liquefied natural gas supplies pass.
