Iran-Afghan Trade Surpasses $3 Billion, Dogharoon Crossing Sees Significant Growth
Afghanistan has become the second-largest destination for Iran's non-oil exports, with annual trade exceeding $3 billion. Manouchehr Mottaki, a member of the Economic Commission of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran, made this statement during an interview at the Dogharoon border crossing in Khorasan Razavi Province.
Mottaki noted that Afghan businessmen have invested significantly in various areas of Iran over the past few years, and their willingness to invest has increased compared to the past. He emphasized the importance of exploiting the capacity of the Dogharoon crossing for the growth and prosperity of transportation and the economy.
The Deputy Chairman of the Economic Commission of the Iranian Parliament, Mehdi Toghiani, described the Dogharoon Free Trade and Industrial Zone as one of the most important economic zones in the country. He highlighted the potential for importing goods to Dogharoon, processing raw materials, and re-exporting items to Afghanistan.
