Iran and Oman Collaborate on Strait of Hormuz Management Amid Ongoing Conflict

Iran and Oman are working together to manage ship traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial waterway that has been largely shut down since the Iran war began nearly six months ago.

A joint statement from the two countries said they will establish a 'joint temporary navigational corridor' and work together to clear mines from the strait.

The proposed framework also includes establishing a permanent shipping corridor and an agreement on the future administration of the strait, which handles about one-fifth of the world's traded oil.

However, it remains unclear whether the US will accept this emerging deal, as President Donald Trump has threatened to bomb Oman if it 'gets in the way' of American efforts to reopen the strait.
