Iran and Tajikistan Finalize Framework for Energy Cooperation Agreement

Iran and Tajikistan are finalizing a long-term agreement for cooperation in the energy sector, with Iran set to export petroleum products and supply crude oil to Tajikistan's refineries. The framework for this agreement was finalized by Iran's Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad during a meeting with Tajikistan's Minister of Energy and Water Resources Daler Juma and Minister of Transport Azim Ibrohim.

The negotiations focused on addressing some of the energy challenges faced by Tajikistan, which could be resolved through the export of surplus petroleum products from Iran. A working group will be set up to examine the technical and logistical details of this cooperation.

Paknejad stated that this agreement can increase the volume of bilateral trade between the two countries to over 800,000 metric tons. Juma praised Iran's goodwill in this matter, emphasizing that Dushanbe aims to increase imports of fuel products from Tehran.
