Iran Blamed for Deadly Attack on Saudi Oil Tanker in Strait of Hormuz

Saudi Arabia's national shipping company, Bahri, reported that an Iranian attack on one of its oil tankers, Sidr, resulted in the deaths of two Filipino seafarers. The incident occurred on Monday while the vessel was transiting the Strait of Hormuz.

The Saudi foreign ministry condemned the attack and called for a halt to escalations, emphasizing the importance of international maritime safety and global energy supplies.

This is not an isolated incident; in July, another Bahri vessel, Wedyan supertanker, was hit while passing through the strait. Additionally, two other Bahri vessels were attacked in the Red Sea in July and August after the Iran-backed Yemen's Houthis declared a naval blockade against Saudi Arabia.
