Iran Conflict Pauses as Houthis Launch Retaliatory Strikes Against Saudi Arabia
The Iran conflict has reached its 148th day, and for the first time since July 13, there were no reported U.S. airstrikes against Iran. The Pentagon did not release any information about new attacks, indicating a possible pause in military operations.
Tehran also appeared to have refrained from launching new attacks, which could be an indication of a de-escalation in the conflict. President Donald Trump said that the U.S. is 'talking to [Iran] right now,' and he believes they are getting more serious about negotiations.
The Houthis claimed responsibility for overnight attacks on two oil facilities in Saudi Arabia, which damaged buildings and infrastructure belonging to the kingdom's Saudi Aramco oil conglomerate. The Houthis stated that these attacks were retaliation for recent Saudi strikes against Yemen's Hodeidah port and Kamaran Island.
