Iran Conflict Sparks Surge in European Energy Prices
The ongoing conflict in Iran has driven up prices for European natural gas, heating oil, and sulfur. The Dutch TTF natural gas benchmark has reached levels not seen since early 2023, trading at around €73-€74 per megawatt-hour.
Heating oil has also risen significantly, with prices reaching approximately $4.68 per gallon. Sulfur is currently priced around 8,639 CNY per ton.
The price hikes reflect the broader impact of geopolitical tensions on commodity markets. Prediction markets related to crude oil prices have shown changes in response to these developments.
