Iran Conflict Widens as Houthi Strikes Hit Saudi Oil Facilities
The Iran conflict is widening despite a pause in US strikes as Houthi attacks on Saudi oil installations along the Red Sea coast have raised fears of a wider war.
Yemen's Iran-aligned Houthis struck sites belonging to Saudi state oil company Aramco in Jizan and Yanbu, with two Asia-based trading sources saying potential damage was reported at fuel and oil storage sites at Jizan. The US military said its naval blockade against Iran 'remains in full effect', but did not explain why it halted a streak of 13 nights of escalating strikes.
The Saudi-led coalition struck Houthi launch sites and arms depots in the Marib and al-Jawf provinces, Yemeni officials said. The war has already disrupted energy supplies through the Strait of Hormuz and may affect a second major shipping route and reignite Yemen's civil war.
