Iran Continues Crude Oil Sales Despite US Blockades
Iran's Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad has downplayed the impact of US-led blockades on the country's crude oil sales, claiming that deliveries to international customers continue uninterrupted. Speaking on Thursday, Paknejad stated that despite recent efforts by Washington to cut off Iran's remaining sources of revenue, the process of selling and delivering crude oil outside Iranian territorial waters remains intact.
Paknejad declined to provide further details on how Iran is navigating these blockades, citing concerns that revealing too much information could be exploited by the enemy. However, he did acknowledge that the country has successfully transferred a significant portion of its oil to designated customer delivery points in recent periods.
The US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent launched 'Operation Economic Outcast' on August 24, aiming to sever Iran's remaining sources of revenue and international financial connections. However, the campaign appears to be avoiding direct confrontation with China, which has been a key supporter of Iran.
