Iran Defies US Pressure, Continues Crude Oil Deliveries
Iran's Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad has confirmed that the country continues to deliver crude oil to international customers in defiance of US maritime pressure. Despite the 'Operation Economic Outcast' initiative, launched by US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent on August 24, Iran has successfully transferred a significant portion of its oil to designated customer delivery points.
Paknejad stated that the sales process outside Iranian territorial waters and in distant seas has continued throughout the intervals between blockades. He emphasized that the ministry is diligently pursuing all necessary measures to sustain this vital economic lifeline.
The US campaign, aimed at cutting Iran off from the global economy, appears to be avoiding direct confrontation with China, which supports Iran. Washington's reluctance to seriously confront Beijing stems from fears of triggering a broader economic or military retaliation from the world's second-largest economy.
