Iran Denies Involvement in Saudi Arabia Oil Facility Attacks
An Iranian military official has rejected allegations that Tehran was involved in attacks on Saudi Arabia.
The official, speaking to state broadcaster IRIB, described attributing the attacks to Iran as 'a serious mistake stemming from a lack of understanding of the situation in the region.'
The statement came after Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Defense said its air defense forces had intercepted and destroyed several drones attempting to target oil facilities in the Kingdom's Eastern Province.
The ministry claimed the drones were launched from Iraqi territory by groups backed by Iran, but the Iranian official denied any involvement.
