Iran Discovers New Gas Field with Potential for 15 Years of Production
Iran's Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad announced the discovery of a new gas field in southern Fars Province, citing that the amount of gas discovered is equivalent to 15 years of production from one phase of the South Pars field.
The newly discovered gas field, known as Takhteh Gas Field, has an estimated volume of over 7.5 trillion cubic feet (TCF) of gas, with approximately 5.7 TCF being recoverable.
Paknejad explained that the gas discovered at the Takhteh Gas Field is sweet gas, which will reduce development and production costs.
