Iran Escalates Tensions with Drone Attacks on Kuwait
Kuwait's armed forces intercepted drone attacks by Iran on Saturday that targeted 'vital facilities', but no people were injured in the attack. Falling shrapnel from drones caused material damage, according to Kuwait's Ministry of Defense spokesman Major General Saud Abdulaziz Al-Otaibi.
The incident comes as tensions between the US and Iran escalate, with President Donald Trump considering striking energy targets in Iran in the next few days. The US has been weighing new strikes, including possible involvement from Israel, which would likely lead to Iranian missile attacks on the country.
Oil prices have risen due to the escalating geopolitical tensions, with Brent crude oil prices increasing 1.2% to near $88 a barrel on Friday. This marks a nearly 24% gain in July, driven by concerns over global oil supplies and growing tensions in the Middle East.
