Iran Eyes Central Asia with Kyrgyz Oil Refinery Partnership
Iran is set to participate in the construction of an oil refinery in Kyrgyzstan, deepening energy and economic ties between the two nations.
The proposal was discussed during a meeting between Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Bishkek.
Under the proposed cooperation, Iran could supply crude oil to the planned refinery, while the petroleum products produced by the facility would be distributed between the two countries.
