Iran Identifies Energy Sites Across Gulf and Israel as Potential Targets
Tensions between Iran and the US have reached new heights as Iranian media identify major energy facilities across the Gulf and Israel as potential targets. According to a report by Fars News Agency, these sites could be targeted with precision missile strikes if hostilities escalate.
The list of potential targets includes Saudi Arabia's Ghawar oil field and the Abqaiq and Khurais processing plants, as well as the UAE's Ruwais refinery and Zakum offshore oil field. Iran has also identified Qatar's North Field gas reserve and Ras Laffan liquefied natural gas (LNG) export terminal, Kuwait's Burgan oil field, Bahrain's Sitra refinery and Ma'ameer industrial facilities, and Israel's Leviathan and Tamar gas fields as potential targets.
Fars News Agency warned that strikes on these facilities would have far-reaching consequences for global energy markets, describing many of them as vital to international crude oil and LNG supplies. Iran has a history of retaliating against regional energy infrastructure, citing the recent 40-day conflict where they struck the world's largest gas processing facility in Qatar.
The report comes amid growing concerns over possible Iranian retaliation against regional energy infrastructure if Washington carries out fresh military action against Tehran. US President Donald Trump has warned that further strikes remain an option, while Israeli media reported that Israel's defense establishment was preparing for the possibility of a major US attack on Iran.
