Crude oil prices rose after Iran issued a list of demands for reopening the Strait of Hormuz. WTI perpetual futures jumped to $77.67, while Brent soared to $83.

The US-Iran war paused last week as Iran and Oman continued deliberating on the future of the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran's demands include removing the US blockade and all sanctions against the country, releasing frozen assets, and ending attacks against its regional allies.

General Dan Caine has warned the White House about the risks of prolonging the war, citing difficulties in winning from the air.
