Iran Launches Ballistic Missiles at US Forces in Middle East
The US military confirmed that Iran launched multiple ballistic missiles at American forces in the Middle East on Tuesday, ending a brief pause in fighting. The US Central Command said all Iranian missiles were successfully intercepted.
US forces 'remain vigilant and at a high state of readiness,' according to the statement from the US Central Command.
The incident marked the end of a period of calm that had lasted for several days following weeks of escalation over control of the Strait of Hormuz, a strategic waterway through which 20% of the world's oil normally flows.
