Iran has lifted restrictions on Iraqi oil tankers passing through the Strait of Hormuz, following demands from Baghdad. According to Iranian state agency IRNA, special permission for Iraqi tankers was one of the main demands during a visit by Iraqi President Nizar Amed.

The decision comes after repeated requests from Iraq, which is among the most affected countries by the restriction on navigation at Hormuz. Traffic in this strait has been significantly lower than before the war.

While Iran has facilitated the passage of vessels carrying Iraqi oil in recent days, the issue remains complicated, according to President Amed.
