Iran Oil Exports Ground to Halt Amid US Sanctions
The Central Bank of Iran has confirmed that the country's oil exports have completely halted. During a live television interview on August 19, Governor Abdolnaser Hemmati stated that Iran's key distinction lies in its restricted financial reserves.
Hemmati noted that the blocking of Iranian assets by the United States has severely impacted every sector of the Iranian economy. He cited the sharp decline in revenues from oil, taxation, and social security premiums as a major contributor to the economic crisis.
The acknowledgment comes amid warnings from various Iranian officials regarding escalating economic and living crises, with authorities preparing for potential new waves of public protests.
