Iran Oil Revenues Top $1B Amid Ongoing US Pressure
Iran's oil revenues have topped $1 billion in just 11 days, despite ongoing economic pressure from the US. According to Fars News Agency, citing documents reviewed by its reporter, over $1 billion in oil-related foreign currency has been added to Iran's foreign exchange reserves during this period.
The report also noted that Iran's oil sales during the first five months of the current fiscal year have generated revenues equivalent to more than 80% of the oil income projected in Iran's 2026-27 budget. This comes amid US economic pressure, with Washington launching 'Operation Economic Outcast' aimed at cutting Iran off from global financial channels and restricting its ability to generate and repatriate revenues.
Iran has dismissed US claims that it controls the Strait of Hormuz, where additional naval mines have been laid according to Ebrahim Zolfaghari, spokesman for Iran's Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters. The remarks came amid a sharp dispute between Washington and Tehran over mine placements in the strategic passage.
