Iran Oil Slicks Emerge Amid US-Iran Tensions
Satellite images have captured massive oil slicks off Iran's main oil export hub, Kharg Island. This comes amid a tense situation in the region after a clash between US and Iranian forces.
The incident occurred on Thursday night when Iranian missiles were fired at three US destroyers in the Strait of Hormuz. However, according to President Donald Trump, 'missiles were shot at our Destroyers, and were easily knocked down.'
Trump described the exchange as 'just a love tap' and claimed that the ceasefire is holding. However, concerns are growing over an oil spill caused by the slicks.
The US military confirmed that three destroyers - USS Truxtun, USS Rafael Peralta, and USS Mason - were involved in the incident. These ships are equipped with advanced defense systems capable of countering ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and shorter-range threats.
