Iran Resumes Oil Tanker Loading at Kharg Island
Iran's oil tanker loading at Kharg Island has resumed after a brief hiatus. On August 14, 2026, a National Iranian Tanker Company Very Large Crude Carrier (VLCC) was spotted loading 2 million barrels of crude at the Azarpad jetty on Kharg Island.
This marks the first time since late July that an Iranian tanker has loaded crude at Kharg Island. Despite this, Iran has continued to load tankers at other terminals, suggesting that the country's oil production is roughly in line with refinery runs and domestic consumption.
