Iran Sanctions Fail to Shock European Gas Markets
Natural gas prices in Europe paused near five-month highs on Tuesday, having rallied sharply over the past week.
The price stability followed a muted reaction to Washington's latest sanctions package against Tehran, which failed to trigger immediate supply shocks despite warnings of secondary sanctions targeting trade partners supporting Iran.
According to Gas Infrastructure Europe, underground gas storage caverns across the European Union hold at just over 60% of total capacity, leaving a fragile energy supply framework ahead of the autumn heating season.
