Iran Strikes Jordan's Al-Azraq Base, Damaging US Warplanes
The IRGC launched a missile attack on Al-Azraq Base in Jordan, which is home to US aircraft and warplanes. The strike damaged at least one A-10 Thunderbolt II, also known as the Warthog, leaving it with a missing wing.
Roughly eight F-15s sustained light damage but were placed back into service after repairs. The IRGC claimed they launched attacks on eight tankers and two warships in retaliation for US strikes on Iranian vessels.
The US military said it destroyed five Iranian oil tankers on Tuesday, directing their crews to abandon ship before hitting the vessels. Iran's Revolutionary Guards warned oil tankers operating from Kuwaiti and Bahraini ports that they could become targets, urging crews to leave their vessels.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Iran continues to try to hit US naval ships, and for every time they do that or try to do that, they'll lose tankers. The exchange is part of a retaliatory sequence involving tankers and a US Navy warship.
